Meetups & Events – Dutch Data Science Week
During Dutch Data Science Week, there are several meetups and events where data scientists can share their skills. Please see below.
Analytics Translator Breakfast – Monday, June 3
Keynotes and Workshops at Erasmus University – Tuesday, June 4
How can we use public data to make products and services more efficient? In which way can we leverage AI and Machine Learning for sustainable purposes? Will the data revolution change the way we envision traditional industries such as shipping?
Through hands-on workshops and a speaker session with data scientists from the industry, we will bring you unique insights into the world of analytics and AI and teach what you can do with all of this.
Scaling Genomics Pipelines in the Cloud – Wednesday, June 5
On Wednesday, June 5, from 14:00 – 17:00, Technical Director of Healthcare at Databricks, Frank Austin Nothaft, will walk through how the Databricks Unified Analytics Platform for Genomics simplifies the end-to-end process of turning raw sequencing data into actionable insights at scale. Introduced by the original creators of Apache Spark, this platform makes it simple to deploy Spark-based bioinformatics tools on cloud computing, and rapidly accelerates common genomic analyses.
Data Council Meetup – Wednesday, June 5
R-Ladies Amsterdam Meetup – Wednesday, June 5
Artificial Intelligence for Medical Technology – Wednesday, June 5
The healthcare industry stands out from other industries in many ways. The potential value of data-driven applications is by far more evident than in any other industry, and the amount and diversity of medical data is abundant. Yet, the pace of innovation is slow, which is unfortunate in the context of the rapid advancements in the fields of computing and artificial intelligence.
This meetup brings together medical specialists, data specialist and other stakeholders in healthcare, to discuss data-driven use cases, research, and associated organizational challenges. We usually invite two speakers: one to share the clinical perspective and impact, and one to enlighten us on the technological background.
By doing so, we strive to contribute to better medical technology and healthcare. So join, connect and get inspired!
